My main interest is on the use of (faunae benthic); Ecology, evolution and diversity of aquatic in marine or rivers for infer water quality characteristics and population fishes.
Also, GIS and remote sensing are state-of-the-art technologies used in mapping out the complex relationships that exist in every ecosystem, allowing us to examine the interconnections between various entities. GIS and remote sensing provide potentially better-informed solutions for the conservation and management of biodiversity as well as resources sustainability.
The models in the data relating to the macrobenthic community and its environment were identified with use of the Kohonen unsupervised artificial neural network (ANN), also referred to as a self-organizing map (SOM). The self-organizing map was implemented to the clustering, ordination and mapping of relationships between water quality, sediment characteristics and biological data of the different locations.
Research Interest:
Hydrobiology, Ecology of current water and Macroinvertebrate identification, Physico-Chemical and Biological Analyses of Water, Habitat Suitability Index (HSI) assessments, GIS and remote sensing in ecology, Statistics and research methods in Fisheries, Applied mathematical and computer methods for Ecological modeling in aquatic ecosystem such as Artificial Neural Network (ANN), SVM, fuzzy regression and ...
